Things to recognize the week before your IELTS test
- Check the reporting time and venue of your IELTS exam. It would be more helpful if you can visit that location before the actual test date or get an approx idea of the time that will be required to reach your test location. This will prevent your from last minute stress.
- Look out carefully, the allotted test center can be different from the one that you booked for your test.
- Take your time to read out the terms and conditions and other instructions carefully that are important for your IELTS test.
IELTS Test Day Advice
- Reach your test center before time. If you reach on or after specified time, you may not be able to take the test or if, in any case allowed, you will not be able to concentrate on it.
- Switch off your cell phone or any other device before getting entered into examination hall. Keep them with your relatives or place them outside the test room.
- You will be given 2 hours 40 minutes to complete Listening, Reading and Writing modules. There is no break in between.
- Have a healthy breakfast so as to perform your best in the test.
- You are not allowed to carry any food in the test center. You can just carry a transparent bottle to take your drink.
Necessary documents to carry
- ID Proof: Take your ID proof with you. It will get checked when you enter the test room, else you will not be allowed to enter.
- 2 Passport sized photos: Also carry two recent passport sized identical photos.
Make sure that you borne appropriate ID proof and photos to link the information you provided while booking your test.
During the IELTS Test
- You are only allowed to bear pen, pencil, eraser and your ID with you.
- If you want to go to washroom, just raise your hand to call the instructor, instead of shouting and disturbing the whole class.
- In case of any query related to the test instructions or test itself, just lift your hand.
- If you face any problem while listening test like inaccuracy or ambiguity in sound or recording, tell the invigilator immediately.
- You will be given 10 minutes after Listening section to jot down your answers in the answer sheet. Whereas after Reading section, no extra time is given. So write your answers directly in the reading answer sheet
Test over?
- After completing your IELTS test, stay in your seat only, until you are directed to leave the test room.
- Give your feedback to the invigilator regarding the arrangement. Also mention, if there exist any issues which affected your performance.
- If you want to report any complaint regarding test, do this within a week of your test date.
